Taking the gamble out of purchasing

Publish Date: 14/3/2017

Looking to stock up your workshop? The results are in for Autodata’s research on the most serviced vehicles in Australia and New Zealand in 2016, with four out of the top five being light commercial utilities.

Topping the list is Toyota Hilux (2005-2015), followed by Nissan Navara (2005–2015), Holden Commodore (2006–2010), Mitsubishi Triton (2009 – 2015) and Ford Ranger (2007–2011). The results are unsurprising given that Toyota Hilux was the highest selling car in Australia in 2016, with the Ford Ranger coming in at number four and Mitsubishi Triton taking out ninth position in the most popular vehicles list.

With these vehicles not only being the most sold, but the most serviced, you can count on seeing at least a few of them cross your workshop floor. This information is vital, particularly as we approach the end of financial year and suppliers are offering discounts on popular parts, giving workshops the opportunity to stock up on low priced parts they can be confident they will use.

Sure, you don’t want to take up valuable shelf space with a part you may not use. Maybe you don’t want to outlay the cost until you’re absolutely sure funds to pay it back are on the way. If you still think it’s a gamble to assume Australia’s most serviced, and most sold vehicle will find its way to your workshop, OEX’s patented Starter Motor, DXS575 takes that level of risk down a few pegs. With its innovative switch terminal, the DXS575 suits the Toyota D4D 3.0L engine in the Prado, HiLux and HiAce. You can carry this part with the confidence that not only will you likely be using it on the most popular vehicle in the country, but if you happen to see a Prado or HiAce on your travels, you’re prepared for that too.

If you’re thinking of stocking up, below are the top 10 most serviced vehicles in Australia and New Zealand according to Autodata:
