Internal Communication

Back to previous page

Communication across a geographically disperse workforce is a challenge, however, as a business, we are doing our best to create a united team, whether you work in a branch in Auckland New Zealand, Kalgoorlie WA or our Brisbane Support Office, we want all employees to feel connected and part of our team.

Our geographical spread, creates a communication challenge, one which we are committed to positively addressing.

Some of the ways we communicate across our business include:

Monthly “In-Touch” Newsletter

Our internal employee communication newsletter “In-Touch” implemented over two years ago has a mix of information, recognition, key messages as well as competitions, In-Touch has been well received and will continue to be an important part of our internal communication plan.

Branch Managers Council (BMC)

Our Branch Manager Council, provides an essential two-way communication opportunity between our Support Office and our Branch Network, through regional branch representation. Our business success is critically linked to these two key elements of our business being aligned and working closely together. We call our “head office”, our “Support Office” for a reason and we need to ensure we are providing the appropriate level of support to our branch network.

The success in 2010 was outstanding and we have chosen to continue our Branch Manager Council in 2011 and we foresee this continuing into the future. Our Branch Manager Council meets bi-monthly and includes our Leadership Team and peer elected Branch Managers representing each of our Regions.

Employee Intranet

Our internal Intranet is an important communication medium for our business. It houses a wide range of information from news items, policy and procedure information, product videos, etc.

Innovation Pipeline

We have an innovation Pipeline portal on our Intranet called “Spark” where we encourage employees to share with us their suggestions for improvement opportunities.  This is just one further way of capturing feedback from our employees.
